How much can the Loft-It lift?
Up to 1200lbs
Where is the motor?
It's located in the floor of the base frame
How is the Loft-It installed?
The lift can be installed by you or by an experienced contractor. Detailed installation instructions are included with each Loft-It
Do you have to reinforce your garage wall to support the weight?
No extra reinforcing is necessary! The force is distributed 80 percent to the floor and 20 percent outward from the wall. That gives a maximum of 250-300 pounds outward pull on the wall.
How much is shipping?
Of course it depends on the destination. The cost to ship to either coast is around $200, with residential delivery extra. The total shipping weight is 295 pounds.
How do you get your vehicle on the Loft-It?
The diagonal end supports tip forward when the platform is lowered to the floor to provide easy on and off loading.
How high of a ceiling is needed to make the Loft-It work?
The wall tracks come 10-feet long. If your ceiling is not 10-feet high, you can cut off the tracks at the height desired. At the 10-foot height, the platform of the Loft-It will raise to 6 feet off the floor.
What is the drive mechanism that lifts the Loft-It?
The platform is raised by twin stainless steel cables connected to a motorized screw drive.
What prevents the Loft-It from lowering over time or does it have to be locked?
The screw drive and the electric motor prevent the platform from lowering. Unlike hydraulic or air lifts that can lose pressure over time, the Loft-It will not sink onto your vehicle or onto other items that you have stored below the platform.
What happens if the motor stops working?
The motor can be removed or replaced while the Loft-It is fully loaded. The Loft-It will not even self lower with the motor removed.
How do you prevent unauthorized use of the Loft-It?
You must insert the key in the switchbox to raise or lower. You have to turn the key and hold to raise or lower to the desired height. When you let go of the key the motor stops.
What is the warranty?
The unit comes with a one year limited warranty.
How heavy is the Loft-It?
The Loft-It weights 242 pounds. The boxed shipping weight is 295 pounds.
Can you raise the unit part-way or do you have to totaly raise or lower the unit?
You can stop the unit at any height. Loft-It works great for a workbench.
How much electrical power does the unit use?
Under full load, the Loft-It draws less than 4 amps from a standard 115 volt outlet.
This is an End-of-Truck/To-the-Curb delivery item or we will deliver and install for an additional charge.
The carrier ( YELLOW FRIGHT ) delivering your order will contact you to arrange a delivery date and time. You can also arrange to pick-up the item at your nearest YELLOW FREIGHT dock.
Ask for the company's phone number in case you need to change the delivery time. It is required that someone be available to sign for your order.
Customer is responsible for unloading shipping.
Delivery is "to the curb," not "to the door." Curb delivery means that you must remove your order from the rear of the truck, and in most cases, the rear of the truck is approximately 48" off the ground.
You must arrange to have extra helpers available if needed. Truck freight companies do not require their drivers to unload shipments, and drivers may not be able to help even if they would like due to contract restrictions.
Also, the driver cannot assist you in moving the item into your home; you must make your own arrangements to move the item from the curb to its final location.
If a Loading Dock is not available and you are not able to arrange for extra help to remove the item from the truck, it is recommended that you order lift gate service to help remove the item from the truck.
There is an additional charge for lift-gate service.
This item ships in 2 boxes, with a total weight of almost 300 pounds. If you are unable to remove this much weight from the rear of the truck, you may order the lift-gate service option. The price on this charge can range from $45 to over $150.
